The client
FinTech Wales is the independent, not-for-profit membership organisation for Wales’s FinTech and Financial Services sector, launched in 2019 to champion the industry, support its startups and scale-ups, and give Wales a credible voice in a global market.
We were involved with FinTech Wales as one of its founding members, and that early involvement gave us a strong understanding of what the organisation needed from its website, alongside our wider work within the fintech and financial service sectors.

What we built
The brief was to create a site that felt like fintech, not finance: credible enough to represent a fast-growing, technically sophisticated industry, but with none of the stuffiness people associate with traditional financial services branding.
Working mobile-first, we built the site in WordPress with a custom content setup using Post Types and Custom Fields, giving the FinTech Wales team the flexibility to add members, events and content themselves as the organisation grew, without needing a developer for every update.

Once the design was agreed, we worked to develop the site using the WordPress content management platform. The front-end development approach was mobile-first, ensuring the best experience is achieved across all devices, followed by back-end development that places focus on ongoing content management.
The result of our hard work and careful thinking, is a website that the organisation’s advisory panel are proud to use to represent with, creating a platform for future growth and a credible presence for FinTech Wales both in the UK and internationally.

The relationship since
The launch was the start of the work, not the end of it. Since 2019, we’ve looked after FinTech Wales in a resilience capacity: keeping the site maintained, hosted, secure and up to date, and on hand for advice whenever the organisation has needed it.
Several years on, we’re still the team behind the platform FinTech Wales uses to represent itself, both in the UK and internationally.
