Exciting times ahead.
2019 saw some real growth for the team and the business overall at Illustrate Digital and in 2020 we don’t have any plans to slow down. It’s with great excitement that we’re able to announce that as of this week, 13th January, we’ve opened an office in the awesome city of Bristol.
Why Bristol?
There are many reasons why Bristol in itself is a great city, but our reasons are quite specific and sensible.
Just over the bridge from our main office in Cardiff, Bristol is a short train journey from Cardiff Central Station to Bristol Temple Meads and allows us quick access to our growing client base. It makes sense!
Team and talent.
As a digital business we’ve got an ever-increasing need to be close to good talent. In order for our agency to be a success we need a steady stream of user experience designers and both front-end and back-end/PHP developers.
As one of the key drivers of the digital economy in the UK and with great Universities, Bristol has become a hotbed for developing great people to work at forward-thinking companies.
Bristol provides a number of great opportunities for us to hire great team members. Those new to the industry can learn from our expertise as one of the leading WordPress agencies in Europe. Whilst those with existing experience are able to work on exciting, challenging projects for some of the best brands in the world.
Our client base.
Speaking of brands… As a development agency we’re not tied down to working with clients in a specific location. Working with clients in the UK, Europe and the USA we’re able to help brands to grow and succeed regardless of location.
However, as part of our business growth in the last 6 months, we’ve noticed an uptake of local brands seeking our services. It seems the expertise of a WordPress agency are becoming increasingly recognised. Businesses more and more understand that seeking an expert to carry out a piece of work is much more cost efficient than missing the mark when working with a generalist.
As a result of this we’re privileged to have a growing client base in Bristol and are working with new and long standing clients such as Acorn Property Group, Enable Law and Osborne Clarke.
In launching a Bristol office where some of our team will be based, we wanted to create an opportunity for greater collaboration with this growing client base. We believe it will create the perfect opportunity to deepen our relationships and produce even greater work for brands who are based in the city.
The Bristol WordPress community.
As core members of the WordPress community and as contributors to the WordPress brand and software, we were drawn to Bristol as a city for our second location for the amazing, well-established WordPress community it has.
Over the coming months and years we’re keen to give back to the community in Bristol in the same way that we currently do in Cardiff and at the global WordCamp conferences.
In fact, one of our newest team members and the first of our Bristol team members, is one of the co-organisers of the city’s Meetup with around 900 members, Bristol WordPress People. You can find out more about the group here: wpbristol.co.uk
The WordPress community, especially with its buzzing size and diversity in Bristol, is a brilliant opportunity for anyone involved in using the WordPress software to learn, network and form new friendships.
Our new Bristol address.
We’re going to be based out of the super-central location of Runway East, right outside Bristol Temple Meads train station. Runway is a popular workspace for startups and scaling companies who offer flexibility and space to grow, which is perfect for our first office in Bristol.
The Temple Meads location is a brand new workspace with great access to the rest of the city and will allow us to travel between Bristol and Cardiff with ease to get work done. We’re really excited to be a part of the growing tech community in Bristol and to join our friends, partners and clients who we’ve already built great relationships with in the city.
