As a manufacturer of innovative and market-leading underfloor heating systems, Wunda Trade, a part of the Welsh-based Wunda Group, sell their products directly to the plumbing and heating industry. Back in 2017 the brand approached us with a plan to move the website away from Prestashop and into WooCommerce. Since then, beyond the initial rebuild, we’ve been working with Wunda to improve user experience for customers and make it easier for customers to purchase their products.
Our first priority with Wunda Trade was to provide a more stable and flexible platform on which to grow. We redeveloped the website and migrated the existing users, orders and products into WooCommerce with minimal disruption. The site was then in a much stronger position from which we could develop new functionality.
We then set about making ongoing changes to the website, with multiple iterations of design and development to improve user experience. This includes the main product pages, product categories, product searches and the checkout process.
Most notably, website users now benefit from a trade account dashboard, which contains some custom-developed functionality to help manage orders more easily. The dashboard allows trade members to view order status, download previous invoices and even store addresses and card details for quicker purchases in the future. Benefitting from card tokenisation, which we’ve custom-developed to work with PayPal.
The results of our development are shown in Wunda’s growth as a trade supplier in the last few years and we’re proud to continue our work with them to provide an even better experience for their customers.
The user dashboard available in WooCommerce as standard is useful for most sites, but didn’t extend to the needs of Wunda’s customers. We created a unique dashboard for trade customers to allow them to track and manage their orders, as well as their customer details. This has helped make recurring orders smoother for existing customers.
