We’re pleased to share some exciting news as the newly established FinTech Wales, which announced its launch at the Innovate Finance Global Summit in London, welcomes our founder Scott Jones to the board.
FinTech Wales is a not-for-profit independent membership organisation that geared to take on the responsibility of championing the FinTech and Financial Services industry in Wales. The organisation will be working to showcase the country as a global player in the marketplace, to encourage development of skills and diversity required to power such an ecosystem and to assist tech businesses in finding the best routes to success, including mentorship and investment.
It brings together entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes, as well as technology suppliers, innovators, universities and public sector bodies.
The Advisory Board of 20 individuals, brought together by Richard Theo (appointed by the HM Treasury as the Government’s FinTech Envoy for Wales), is a strong selection of top tech roles and supporting sectors from within Wales, including representation from Welsh companies such as Credas, Confused.com, Admiral, The Principality and Capital Law.
Another of the board members, Louise O’Shea, CEO at Confused.com, had this to say about the recently founded organisation: “There is a wealth of FinTech expertise in Wales and FinTech Wales is a crucial initiative that is combining this expertise to further enable growth, through understanding and addressing skills shortages as well as being a hub for the ecosystem that FinTech’s need to be successful.”
At Illustrate Digital, FinTech is one of the key sectors in which we’ve had a lot of impact as a digital agency. With clients such as Secure Trading, Hodge Bank and Pure Commercial Finance, as well as partnerships with innovative finance tech providers like Codeweavers, it’s an area in which we’ve become well-versed in producing results.
As the founder and Managing Director of our agency, Scott has taken a strategic role in helping these tech clients to deliver bigger and better results in the financial sector and he’s certainly up for the challenge of aiding the wider network of established FinTech companies and FinTech startups in Wales.
