Getting the older generation online…

The internet is a very powerful tool and, at least for myself, the best use is to connect people no matter where they are. An interesting article by the BBC speaks about an agency in the UK that is calling the government to train all of our older generation in the use of the internet to prevent them becoming lonely in a world where families don’t always live in the same places anymore.

It is easy to take our ability to use the internet for granted when children grow up surrounded by it. For the relatively small cost per person I think this would be an amazing idea. I have seen how powerful it can be for someone over 70 to¬† receive a call from family around the world, or contact that friend from school they haven’t spoken to in years.
